Synopsis[]
Mario goes on a adventure after driving off course during a race...
Plot[]
Mario's misaimed priorities[]
In Mario Kart 64's Royal Raceway track, Mario starts off his race against the other characters raised up in the sky compared to the others. When the race begins, Mario drops down and starts constantly regenerating green shells and hitting the opponents with them obsessively, immediately before deciding the rest of the racers aren't fun. He asks the crowd if they love hm, and they answer by saying they want to see Luigi and that they should've done what Mario did to the other racers themselves. Mario responds to this by deciding to run over the crowd, mocking their appearance not turning out to be reminiscent of trolls, and then deciding to return back to the main race. While racing through the track, one of his green shells end up quite literally backfiring on him and hit his kart. Mario attempts to levitate across the track in order to reach the other players, only to fall down in the water anyway due to his weight.
Mario is led to a jungle via the river and he sees a boat. He tells the DJ to play some music to get the boat's attention, which turns out to be Justin Bieber's "Baby". Mario stops the music, telling them to have gotten the boat's attention and not "make them get an ear infection". He asks if the DJ has any music of actual quality in question, and the DJ instead responds with silence. Mario decides to jump over to the boat, only to fall in due to the boat not being physical as the DJ has decided instead to play Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", much to Mario's dismay. After being carried over by Lakitu, Mario attempts a second time, only to be caught in the turnwheel of the boat at the back. On his third and final attempt, Mario attempts to jump onto the roof of the cabin, only to fall through it. Annoyed, Mario tells the boat to be taller and to not be a "trolling boat". Giving up, Mario decides he should find another escape route, telling Lakitu to get a life when constantly being told to reverse. However, after he attempted to cross one of the bridges to reach the other side of the river, Mario fell down into the water due to the absence of one there. Mario respawns and instead decides he should let the river guide him instead, and ends up at a different course. Mario sees Lakitu alerting him of the fact that he is on the 2nd lap, confusing him and possibly also worrying him. Mario then tries to levitate over the rock to reach the sky, and ends up rolling around on the top of it for a few hours before returning to the track.
Adventures across the tracks[]
Afterwards, he respawns, calling God "jealous" and telling him that he doesn't own a kart. Mario levitates between the two rocks again, proceeding to the opposite side again, and tells himself that he has to escape from the course, or whatever the location he is currently in actually is as he is uncertain. Mario decides to levitate out of the course itself, ending up at Ghost Valley 1. Mario is unsure as to where he is, starting to drive around, pointing out how he is on a wooden road. Mario tells a Lakitu indicating to him that he is on the second lap to go away and to not be a show off, and is reminded of a time when he killed Luigi and stuffed his body at the track's location. Mario sees a Boss Bass jump over the track, and tries to call for its attention, only for it to ignore him, Mario thinking that it couldn't see him because its eyes are melted together. Mario also encounters some Boos flying around, calling them "flying little debris". Upon entering the castle, Mario compares it to his house, minus the apparent element of there being dead bodies in his basement. After driving up further, Mario decides to levitate of the level, telling more Boos, that he still thinks to be "flying debris" to "give Yoshi a disease".
Mario ends up landing onto Luigi Raceway, though he is unable to identify it as he asks who owns the course. Driving on it, Mario calls the course and himself "awesome", with the crowd and Lakitu not. Mario then decides to levitate over the course, traveling through the bridge and ending up on the other side to realise that the owner of the course is Luigi. Now aware of this, Mario claims to want to own the course himself instead. Mario summons Lakitu to ask permission to own the course, and Lakitu reminds him that he already has one of his own. Mario repeats that he wants Luigi's course in particular, and then tells Latiku that "nerds like him need to get a girlfriend". Mario then sees a sign reading "64" that he jumps toward thinking it's a lollipop, and responds to doing so by saying it tastes like Lakitu and noting that it's a fake lollipop. Concerned, Lakitu asks Mario how he knows what he tastes like. Ignoring him, Mario decides that Luigi Raceway makes him angry and scared at the same with with Luigi's face, and then abruptly teleports to Kalimari Desert, to his confusion as he asks how he is visiting various places as fast as he is, and ends up encountering the train going through the tunnel, of which he is familiar with. Mario's engine then starts, to break down, to his inconvenience as he lacks the coupons to renew it. Mario's engine eventually blows up in his attempt to cross the train tracks, only for him to stop straight in the middle of the train tracks instead, causing the train to crash into him and "ruin his beautiful face". Mario decides to take vengeance on the train for doing this.
Following the train, a boy on the train asks his dad what Mario is, and he tells his son that Mario is a stereotype, the conductor following that Mario is a "fat thing". Provoked by these statements, Mario decides that the train's passengers earn whatever he plans to do to them, which is crashing into the side of the train and causing it to explode in a wreckage. Now driving on Toad's Turnpike, Mario mocks the trainwreck he had created, even detailing the corpses present afterwards, now needing to return back to the castle. However, he has no idea of his current aim for directions and needs Toad to help him. Toad in question turns out to currently be doing the Slider, of which Mario had never told him about before, only to end up falling off of the edge into the blank emptiness below. Returning back to Mario, it turns out that he had just finished telling a story of how he had met Adolf Hitler, and then ignores the matter, continuing to drive in order to return back to Peach's castle as he proceeds to levitate over the next bridge and fall back down again, causing him to respond that the bouncing around makes his butt sore. Randomly, Mario then wonders what Luigi is currently doing, which turns out to be being kissed by Princess Peach, calling out that he had "beaten Mario" at it. Bored of the using the highway as a mode of routing back to Peach's castle, Mario decides then to levitate up and out of the highway.
As a result, he then inexplicably ends up in Sherbet Land, which he describes as the "ice lands". Hopping over to a nearby ice plate and asking a penguin how to return to the Mushroom Kingdom, only for the penguin to sit on it as if he were an egg and suck him inside, teleporting him to another track. As he wonders why he is being transported to multiple locations, he finds a sign indicating rockslides that he reads instead as "the mountain having eyes", and he continues driving forward, wondering if Bowser is sad about him being absent for as long a period as he is. However, as it turns out, he is celebrating in "Bowser in the Sky" to "Celebration" by Kool & The Gang, which leaks into Mario's driving where he currently is. Suddenly, Mario is greeted by a rockslide through boulders, in accordance with the previous warning, though he misinterprets the one falling as a coconut, and gains a desire to "eat" them. Upon this desire, Mario ends up crashing directly upwards and squishing himself flat, after which he then considers himself as "Paper Mario", and then decides to levitate out of the course.
Moos and rainbows[]
Mario then ends up on Moo Moo Farm, comparing the location to when he once hacked Farmville and then being bounced upwards by a mole from underground, of whom he calls a "stupid mole" and a "mole troll". Mario sees a cow on the side of the track, deciding to levitate onto it and end up caught in its backside, with Lakitu returning him back to the track as a result. Continuing to drive along, Mario determines that he is bored as he levitates over the bridge, and then jumps over the fence and into the farm to call the cows "stupid cardboard cows", only to end up on Rainbow Road. As he falls, he describes the track as "the hippie road" and lands, only to realise that he is suddenly feet in the sky where the castle he is trying to return to isn't. As he passes by a neon lighting version of himself, he describes whom he doesn't recognise as himself as "fat", and also passes by a neon lighting version of Luigi, calling him a "scary face" and telling "it" that "it" won't "scare him" again. Near the neon lighting of Luigi, Mario encounters a Chain Chomp chasing directly opposite of his path towards him, whom he believes is "Pac-Man", and he drives directly into it, knocking him up in the air as he grows determined to kill it afterwards, causing him to drive over the Chain Chomp in his attempt to do so and fall off of the track as he calls out his inexperience with aiming for things, leading to Lakitu referencing him on why he isn't allowed to own a gun.
In the event of falling down from the sky, Mario ends up falling and impaling himself on the peak of one of the castle towers. Returning back to the castle upon his death, Mario tells Toad "Well, Toad, all well it ends well", giving Toad an opportunity to snarkily state that it is well when Mario isn't present.
