This is for characters who are even more antagonistic than main antagonists, known as overarching antagonists. These are the antagonists who impact the plot the most, maybe even being behind everything. They often stay hidden in the shadows and only show up at a certain point. A few ways a character could be considered an overarching antagonist include:
- Being directly responsible for the events of the series
- Promoting a character to the main antagonist
- Masterminding some certain events
- The reason the character is visiting the main setting
- Being the reason a certain character is the way they are or why they even exist
- Or even being the creator of the main antagonists
