Super Mario 64 Bloopers: Flashbacks is the third episode to be uploaded on the SMG4 channel.

This episode was aired on June 4, 2011.

Synopsis[]

Mario has flashbacks but of other games.

Plot[]

The first four flashbacks[]

In the front path of the castle, scanning the sky, Mario remarks that the current day he is living makes him feel nostalgic, and Lakitu snarkily responds that he misses when he could throw Spinies at him as Mario enthusiastically visits the castle, approaching Toad. Toad believes that Mario wants something from him; in actuality, he wants to take a shower. Toad tells Mario not to remind him, and upon remembering why, he flashes back to when he stumbled upon Mario in the shower and fell down out of the horror of his partial bareness and ended up crashing into a set of draws, leading Mario to obliviously call him to get back up again. Embarrassed by his lack of dignity, Toad asks Mario why he decided to remind him of that moment. Mario casually comments that Toad "looked cute" unconscious on his floor, and Toad gains a desire to vomit from Mario's sudden sentiment.

Mario visits Jolly Roger Bay to ask a Bob-omb Buddy why he constantly stands in a particular spot next to the water, and the Bob-omb Buddy answers that it's because he hates the water. He asks how he dislikes water as he flashes back to meeting someone who spat it out called F.L.U.D.D, who asks who Mario is. F.L.U.D.D tells Mario that he looks like a fat Italian and can tell that his dad is Japanese. He gives Mario an analysis and finds that his weight is 300 kilos with an intelligence quotient of 1. Reading the data, F.L.U.D.D tells Mario he would hate to be him, and then introduces himself as "FLUDD-a-fat-laggy-ugly-doo-dad", and implies Mario to stop looking at him, then insulting him by calling him "tubby". After the flashback, Mario tells Bob-omb Buddy that he killed the machine upon hearing its words, and the buddy responds to his flashback that all the machine was doing was abusing him, following on that Mario is horrible at flashbacks. Mario passive-aggressively dimisses the buddy's criticisms and leaves Jolly Roger Bay.

Mario then visits Yoshi on the rooftop and notices he is somewhat distraught, and Mario asks why. Yoshi immediately responds shouting that it's because Mario continuously cheats at Mario Kart. Mario remembers that this is the truth and flashes back a time when Mario found a cheat to constantly regenerate red shells, allowing him to repetitively hit Yoshi with red shells at the starting line, leading to Yoshi being in disbelief that he paid $2.99 just to end up being repetitively struck by Mario with red shells. Mario reminds Yoshi of a worse event than being constantly struck with red shells, and calls back to when Master Hand fought against Yoshi for hacking into his YouTube account during a round of Super Smash Bros. Mario also reminds Yoshi of a time when they played Banjo-Kazooie together and accidentally found a secret to Stop 'n' Swop, only for that flashback to turn out a fabrication by Mario as it had never happened. Yoshi then gives Mario some mushrooms before jumping off the roof into the waterfall, which Mario is amazed by as he now finds out where Yoshi disappears to upon jumping off the roof, noting it as something he'll remember.

The last four flashbacks[]

Mario visits Bowser in the Dark World, and Bowser implies for him to leave him alone as he tells Mario that he is thinking of evil things. Mario tells Bowser he is not the only villain, and he goes through a list of various other Mario enemies, ranging from:

  • Gooper Blooper, whom Mario refers to as "That big blooper";
  • Mecha-Bowser;
  • King Boo;
  • Petey Piranha, whom Mario refers to as"Pete the Piranha";
  • Bowser Jr., whom Mario simply refers to as "Bowser's son";
  • Shadow Mario, whom Mario refers to as "Bowser's son in gooey version";
  • Mr. L;
  • Rayman, whom Mario thinks is "the worst";
  • The Koopalings, whom Mario refers to as "Bowser's demented children";
  • The Fracktail, whom Mario refers to as "that mental dragon";
  • Paper Bowser;
  • Cortez, whom Mario refers to as "that boney pirate";
  • Luigi;
  • Bowser himself.

Mario thinks he knows more but has forgotten who they are, and Bowser is now angered knowing there are other villains around, and he tries to burn Mario with his flames. Mario leaves the level in a desperate escape from Bowser by jumping off the platform.

Visiting the room for Jolly Roger Bay, Mario sees that the fish in the tank have now been converted to Power Stars, which he finds to be peculiar, making a fish pun by using the adjective "fishy". Mario asks a nearby Toad about why the tank now has stars inside it, and Toad replies that he simply wanted the stars to have space. Mario says that the stars are gay and recalls a time when a star once struck him as he and his friends were relaxing in front of Peach's castle, and Mario remarks that the stars still haunt him.

Later, in the foyer of the castle, Mario asks Toad if he likes pranking, to which Toad replies that he likes to especially prank Mario. Mario recalls a time when a lady pranked Peach by giving her the gift of a fart, and the Toads couldn't breath because of it. The lady then did some magic tricks and Peach fainted because she couldn't handle the smell. Toad reminds him that his flashback is incorrect and the lady actually stole Peach's voice, giving him the cover of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga as evidence. Mario ignores the evidence itself and only comments that he would hate to be the fat guy on the right, which is him, and Toad gives up trying to convince him. Toad notices and asks why Mario has a mark on his cheek, and Mario flashes back to a time when "an ancient guy", the Ancient Minister from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, planted a bomb and Mario ran to stop it, only to be knocked back in the distance by cannonball.

Toad laughs at the flashback and finds it entertaining that Mario was hurt. Mario has enough of flashing back, and then leaves the castle.

  • With the exception of the fifth flashback, all of the flashbacks were taken from games other than Super Mario 64: The first and the penultimate flashbacks were from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the second from Super Mario Sunshine, the third from Mario Kart 64, the fourth from Super Smash Bros., the sixth from Mario Party 3, and the eighth from Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
  • According to F.L.U.D.D.'s analysis, Mario weighs 300 kg (or 661 lbs.) and has an IQ of 1.
    • However, in Portal M4R10 - If Mario was in... Portal, GLaDOS states that Mario's IQ is -42125, thus leaving his actual IQ unknown.
  • Petey Piranha is misspelled as "Pete the Piranha".
  • Mario mentions the Stop 'N' Swop, an easter egg/unused idea from Banjo-Kazooie.
