Gina Shell is a supporting character of the Crossover Time series. She is Charlene Shell's daughter and K.O.'s friend, sparring partner, and subsequently girlfriend.
Appearance[]
Gina is short in height, and is almost as tall as K.O. She is a purple fish who has dark brown puffy hair, and rich lilac fins. She wears a lime green tie headband, most likely because Tyler, her mother's best friend, is a biker, teal hooded jacket with a light cyan tank top underneath, dark green tennis skirt, and dark cyan sneakers with baby blue socks.
Personality[]
Gina is a total tomboy. She is confident, eager and very friendly, albeit in a rough way. She enjoys relaxing and hanging out with K.O. and is willing to jump into action if given the opportunity. Like most children however, she cares very much for her mother and when things get scary, is shown to cling to her like most children do. She tends to be impatient when it comes to her mother’s rules and expectations, but she comes to accept them upon learning Charlene’s past and intentions to take her on an adventure someday.

Gina likes to "ambush" K.O. a lot and is still very loud and energetic. She is stated to be his sparring partner and seems to be very amiable towards new people she meets. She can also be forceful, as seen when she asked Anne if she likes being randomly attacked, and responded with "too bad" when told no.

Gina on the Run[]
Gina is upset and fed up with her mother's rules and tea lessons and takes K.O. in a plan to leave Wartwood to explore beyond the valley. The plan is foiled when Charlene gets to them. Gina expresses her feelings to her mom and that she is sick of doing what her mom asks, causing Charlene to challenge her to Martial Arts. Gina gets frustrated as she is losing to her mom by two points, so her mom tests her tea skills, which helps Gina defeat her. She then finds out Charlene, like her, was an explorer and that she learnt all her skills on tea travels and that her mom is going to take her on her next trip.

- Martial arts: As seen in "Gina on the Run", thanks to Charlene's tea lessons, Gina unknowingly acquired martial arts skills, using them during fights.

Charlene Shell[]
Gina loves her mother, but she was initially shown to be strict and overbearing to her. Charlene expected Gina to obey her and complete her chores perfectly. Gina lacked the patience to put up with Charlene’s rules, but soon learned that her mother was teaching her self-defense through those strict chores. Gina came to appreciate her mother for understanding her desire for adventure and promising to take her on one in the future. Gina cares about Charlene and is shown to hug her mother whenever something dangerous is happening. Gina is also shown to help Charlene with running her tea shop and hold her mother’s hand like most children do.

Gina had been friends with K.O. for a long time. The two are so close that they are comfortable with rough housing with one another and hanging out casually. While not confirmed until "Anne of the Year", Gina has apparently had a crush on K.O. for a long time. This was slightly hinted at in "Croak and Punishment" where she opted to have a Blue Moon Shell, which was initially meant for her as a birthday present, stay with K.O. so that she will know when she is close to his house. It is confirmed that they are very much in love with one another and will someday go on a date.

Voice[]
Gina is voiced by Ashleigh Ball. Ball uses her voice sounds of Diane Foxington from The Bad Guys for Gina. She voiced Rainbow Dash and Applejack from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
Debut[]
Gina debuted in the episode "Dating Love". However, prior to this episode, she was featured in the game Locust Pocus, released on DisneyNOW a few weeks before the episode premiere.

Trivia[]
- Gina seems to be the only true friend that K.O. has ever had. Though it can be argued that Maudie Ferris is also a close friend.
- While most animated shows tend to develop romantic relationships over the course of the series' run, Gina and K.O.'s relationship was made official by the end of the first season.
- Gina's full name, Gina Hibiscus Matcha Shell, are all names of plant or tea related things. Gina, or Hedera, is a type of climbing vine that itself carries various subset plants. Hibiscus is a type of flower found in tropical climate areas that can be used to make Hibiscus tea. Matcha is finely ground powder made from green tea leaves that are most commonly made in East Asian countries. The Shell, or Drosera, is a small carnivorous plant that is called so because of its liquor like dew that hangs from its leaves. Each name perfectly summarizes her character as well as various themes of the show.
