Mr. Mailman, also known as Incidental 154[1], the mailman, Guard 1, and Policeman 2[2], is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Something Smells." He is classified as a secondary character-type incidental.
Appearance[]
He is a light tan fish with light purple lips and a dark purple dorsal fin. He wears a light blue mailman uniform and carries a brown mailbag with the word "MAIL" on it and wears a dark blue hat. In his older appearances, his mailbag was colored blue like his hat.
Guard 1[]
He is colored yellow with a dark yellow dorsal fin and lips. He also has a black mustache and wears a dark blue police uniform with a badge on the front that also has labels on the sleeves that resemble the badge along with a matching hat that has the label on it.
Policeman 2[]
He is colored orange with a lighter orange dorsal fin, lips, and eyelids much like Incidental 118's orange colored variant, he also has slightly smaller and rounder eyes. He wears the standard police officer uniform which consists of a white shirt with a large police badge, blue pants with a red stripe, black boots, and a blue police cap. In his older appearances, his eyebrows were thick lines instead of being similar to the Cop and his hat and pants were colored a lighter shade of blue.
Personality[]
Like most incidentals, Mr. Mailman doesn’t really have a consistent personality, but one common trait that he has been shown to have in a decent amount of his appearances is a dislike or annoyance of SpongeBob. He has even been shown to be a member of the 'We Hate SpongeBob Club' in the episode "Sea-Man Sponge Haters Club." Although there has been a very few times in the series where he doesn’t appear to have any issues with SpongeBob, such as "Under the Small Top."
Names[]
Mr. Mailman is Incidental 154's most consistently used name in the franchise. It was used for him in "What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?," "Walking the Plankton," "Sea-Man Sponge Haters Club," and "Patrick the Mailman." Although he has had three other generic names:
- In "Krabby Road," Guard 1 is named Frank.
- In "Squid Plus One" and Find a Missing Star, he is named Norton.
- In The Patrick Star Show episode "Tattoo Hullabaloo," he is named Jim.
