” | —Leeza to Maddie Turner before kissing her on the cheek - her most famous quote. | ||
Leeza Gibbons is a major supporting character in the Crossover Time series. She is a prodigious young fish who attends New York City Junior High School. Although initially depicted as an antagonist, after bonding with Maddie, Leeza reforms herself and reassesses her outlook on life, gaining the courage to stand up to her parents, regain her friendship with Cassie, and become close friends with Maddie, before eventually becoming her girlfriend.
She is the youngest child of the divorced Leonard and Darlene Gibbons and the younger sister of Poppy and Pierre Gibbons.
Appearance[]
Leeza is a lavender fish with dark pink fins and lips. she had chin-length hair dyed in two shades of neon green with brown hair, her natural hair color, visible at the roots. She wears a purple jacket with a short lavender dress, a periwinkle belt, and dark brown leggings with cream-colored boots. At the end of "Through the Magic Mirror", she dyes her hair indigo blue, with the strands above her ears retaining it's brown color.
Personality[]
In the beginning Leeza did not seem to be a nice person, but that slowly changed as season one progressed. She has a sense of integrity, as she was shocked that her mentor Carol made her cheat in her duel with Maddie without her knowledge, and seeing as how Maddie's boss, Mr. Gar, cheated as well, Leeza called off the everlasting oath magic she cast on Maddie so that she could continue her own training to become a witch. This indicates Leeza truly wants to be a great witch, but one of her own merit and not resort to cheating or dishonesty. "Loss in Speech" further reveals that Leeza has a concealed softer side, which she keeps hidden so as not to demonstrate weakness and reads to children.
Deep down Leeza is kind, selfless, and sensitive. In "Understanding Cassie", she was forced to pretend to be mean to Cassie after her parents blackmailed her into ditching her and eventually made amends with her, regaining their friendship. In "Prom Fright", Leeza had developed a close friend on Maddie, which eventually led to them becoming a couple.

Maddie Turner[]
From the get go, Leeza has suffered nothing but unintentional humiliation from her and blames Maddie for her misfortunes, despite that they derived from Leeza's haughty attitude. Leeza finds Maddie's perky personality and human traits unacceptable and makes it known that she does not appreciate her appearance. However, starting with "Power Play", Leeza starts to treat Maddie slightly better when she is outed as an "accidental" cheater and from that point tries to understand what Maddie is all about, albeit without actually trying to talk to her and continuing to act hostile. In "Loss in Speech", Leeza learns that she and Maddie have some things in common and while she still does not consider her a friend, she realizes how her own behavior is making things harder for both of them and as a result becomes more cordial to her.
