—Mack promising to wait for Lemony on the other side after she decides to go back to her friends, SMG4 Movie: REVELATIONS
Mack was a major character in the modern era of the Crossover Time series.
During the events of SMG4: The Day HE Arrived, Mack was accidentally captured by Faye, the consciousness of Darkside, when he was attempting to capture Danielle in order to convert him into her own avatar. Despite getting the wrong person, Faye instead used the opportunity to do to Mack what he did to Cloudy: assimilate into him as a means of getting to Danielle without suspiscion. This resulted in Mack slowly falling under Faye's control until the latter fully assimilated him and became Corrupted Mack, resulting in Mack unwillingly becoming the secondary antagonist of the Genesis Arc.
Despite the best efforts of Team Heroes to save Mack from whom they believed was "Darkness", they were unsuccessful in freeing him from Faye's control and leaving Lemony with no choice but to slay him in the climax of SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2021, which ultimately saved their universe and, unknowingly, caused Faye to not only fail in his plans but also freed the real Cloudy from the former's possession and was sent off along with the incomplete universe into the depths of the Void Box.
Regardless, the demise of Mack left a huge impact on Team Heroes, especially Lemony, which lead to her journey of moving on with her life and enrolling in Umbrella Academy to master her zora powers to prevent another incident from happening ever again. He serves as one of the three posthumous overarching protagonists (alongside Owletta and Mana) of the Revelations Arc.
He would return one final time in SMG4 Movie: REVELATIONS, speaking to Lemony in purgatory in order to encourage her to continue living and to save the rest of the gang from Faye.
