The Mario Mask is a minor character in the SMG4 series, serving as the titular main antagonist of SMG4: Mario's Mask Of Madness. As it's name suggests, it is a evil mask in the image of Mario.
The Mario Mask is a mask shaped like Mario's face.
When having a vessel to possess, he can give the possessed victim some of Mario's main features, such as his mustache and red cap, with the cap replacing that victim's iconic hat, similar to how Meggy's beanie and goggles don't appear after the Mario Mask is released from her.
The Mario Mask first appears when Mario pulls its out of Happy Mask Salesman's bag. Afterwards, it goes on to cause chaos by possessing Luigi, Axol and Meggy Spletzer. After Mario and the others remove it from Meggy's face with Melony's help, it is ultimately subdued and defeated by the salesman with a crowbar.
Powers and Abilities[]
When worn, the mask causes the host to act like Mario. The user does keep some traits of their own, though they are twisted to fit Mario's personality, as Axol asked Toad if he wanted to be in his Spaghetti Harem Anime while under the mask's possession and Luigi reacted with over the top fear when Meggy inadvertently jump scared him. Since it is already a complete carbon copy of his personality, the mask is unable to work on Mario himself, as shown when he tries to wear it.
