Just because I seem creepy to you doesn't mean I'm a bad person. I'll have you know, I learned magic to help people, not hurt them. Sheesh. Appearances aren't everything, K.O. |
” | —Maudie Ferris |
Madison "Maudie" Ferris is a supporting character in the Crossover Time series. She is the older daughter of Mr. Ferris, and the older sister of Rachel, Lenora, and Gladys Ferris, who is also a magic user, being for that considered strange by the people of New York City due to her practice of magic.
She is voiced by Tara Strong, who also voices Dil Pickles, Bubbles, Twilight Sparkle, Raven, Ben Tennyson, Unikitty, and Beeza.
Appearance[]
Maudie is close in age to K.O. and is roughly the same height as him. She is a light blue fish with a lighter shaded underbelly and has a red tongue. Just like the other fish, she has two fingers per hand and two toes per foot. Her hair is a lavender with dark purple spots and bulbous in appearance with a small knot on her head, making it look put in burgundy ponytails. It covers one of her eyes, but the one that is visible is big and yellow with black, slit pupils similar to that of a snake. She wears a olive green shirt under a light brown dress with torn skirt, brown sash and belt with a gold belt buckle, and black boots. While part of the Wartwood Resistance, Maudie sports a suit of armor, a black leather glove on her left hand, and a red headband.
In "Maudie & Marcy", Maudie is shown what she looked like prior to doing magic. She wore a grungy pale yellow dress with a dirty apron. Her hair was better kept with both of her eyes visible and sported a small purple bow on the side of her hair.
In "The Shut-In!", Anne creates a human version of Maudie in the imagination of her story "Phone-Mo" named Haddie. She is a human of average height with pale skin, shock white hair that covers her right eye and black eyeliner. She wears a greyish-purple hoodie with thin dark pink horizontal lines and pink strings and cuffs, a purple checkered skirt, a black belt and dirty black boots. She also has a blue pearl bracelet on her left hand, a dull gold bangle on her right hand, and a noticeable tan band-aid on her right knee.
Personality[]
She appears eerie, but in reality, she is an understanding fish, though she is merely socially awkward. She doesn't curse others unless they really deserve it. She talks in a husky, whispering voice and makes those around her uncomfortable with her presence. Whether she does this on purpose or is inept to social cues is not known, but she does try to be on friendly terms with people. She does seem somewhat self-aware as she acknowledges that some people think she is evil when really she wants to use her abilities such as magic for good. Most Wartwood residents conceive Maudie as being strange compared to other frogs in Wartwood due to her peculiar habits and interests in magic, but after understanding her deep down one would see her in a very different way, similar to K.O.'s encounters with her. She's shown to take her work very seriously, and sees her witch activity as a responsibility rather than a hobby. Prior to the events of "Maudie & Marcy", she prioritized them rather than spending time with her sisters. When interrupted by her sisters she becomes irritable, and will angrily yell at them if they accidentally ruin a part of her magic activities. However Maudie does care about her siblings, and vows to be a good older sister after realizing that she hurt her siblings.

Trivia[]
- It is possible that Maudie has had some unrequited feelings for K.O. prior to the start of the series. Whether or not she still has them since the events of "Cursed!" has yet to be revealed.
- Maudie's hair supposedly resembles a spotted cort (Cortinarius iodes), also known as a viscid violet cort.
- When the episode "True Colors" was leaked online, a personal message from Maudie was released asking fans to wait for the official release of the episode or else she would curse the viewer into a "turnip with a giant butt".
