Morty, also known as Incidental 37B, the newsie, and the mailman, is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Ripped Pants." He shares the same incidental model number with Incidental 37A and is classified as a hotdog-type incidental.
Appearance[]

He is a purple fish with grayish purple fins. He wears yellow shorts with orange flowers and wears a dark green cap as well. In his older appearances, his eyes are much rounder and more closer together.
Newsie[]
The newsie.
He appears as a shorter child fish with no dorsal fin, and a face that's similar to his old design. He wears light blue pants with two yellow buttons and a dark green newsie hat. The mailman has the same appearance as the newsie.

- Morty is Incidental 37B's most consistently used name. It was originated for the newsie in the video game The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (PC) and was then readapted in the video game Lights, Camera, Pants! (PC).
- In the SpongeBob SquarePants Trading Card Game, the newsie is named Sprat.
- In The Adventures of Man Sponge and Boy Patrick in What Were You Shrinking? and The Adventures of Man Sponge and Boy Patrick in The Mega-Justice Collection, a hatless Incidental 37B is named Scooter.
- In "The Krusty Slammer," he is a prisoner that is named Wobbles.
- In the Super Bowl LVIII: Live from Bikini Bottom, two redesigned Incidental 37Bs are named as parodies of celebrities:
- LePrawn James: a parody of LeBron James.
- Shrimpothée Chalamet: a parody of Timothée Chalamet.

- In "The Krusty Slammer," an unmarked group eleven of inmates at the Krusty Slammer including Incidental 37B are named Stretch, Chuckles, Bingo, Blammy, Wheels, Boogie, Red, Trip, Winks, Skeeter, and Stinky.
