SMG4 NEWS is the fifth episode of Season 14 and the eight hundred and sixty-fourth overall to be uploaded on the Crossover Time & SMG4 channel.

This episode was aired on February 10, 2024.

Synopsis[]

The most reliable news source out there 💯

Plot[]

SMG4 and SMG3 serve as host of "SMG4 News", with their rivalry getting in the way of news telling of various subjects.

Top Story: Steve in a Tree[]

Steve is stuck in a tree, with a brigade of cats trying to save him. The police, led by Hal Monitor, are at the scene yet do nothing but dance.

SMG3's Coffee & Bomb Advertisement[]

SMG3 tries to peddle a "1% off" advertisement for his shop as a new report, before its kicked away by SMG4.

Robbery[]

Wario and Waluigi are in the midst of a shot out with the police following a robbery. Journalist Bob interviews the two thieves, asking why are committing these crimes. Wario explains its to get enough money to go to DisneyLand. Wario asks if Bob wants to help, with "journalist" joining the Wario bros' crime spree. SMG3 tries again to promote his store, before SMG4 switches to the weather.

Weather forecast[]

Fishy Boopkins as the weatherman explains the weather for today. When he sees that Chocolate Island is 73 degrees, Boopkins gives it some water, but it turns from 73 to 160 degrees. This causes Boopkins to panic, but it turn out to be SMG3 who changed the degree. Both SMG4 and SMG3 fight while Boopkins complains that he’s the worst weatherman and he jumped out of the window.

Breaking news[]

A generic breaking news screen comes on. SMG4 explains that new villains have just begun attacking the Mushroom Kingdom, before asking if the situation could start a new arc. On a street, a tank is surrounded by many cars. They introduce themselves, with Luigi being Mr. L and saying it's time for them to take over. Whimpu, however, introduces himself as a nonsensical and hilariously long name. Then, Mr. L makes a random guy do painful sit-ups. Whimpu then bombards a random man with the terms "cringe" and "based". Swag then explains he will take care of the situation. He slides to the two villians, and proceeds to show Whimpu a video of a kid saying to get him Huggy Wuggy toys followed by "uwu". He gets surprised from the video and starts screaming and flailing with his eyes enlarged and bloodshot. Mr. L later sees this, and start screaming at each other. Swagmaster later uses a machine gun to cause an explosion which wipes out both Whimpu and Mr. L. The camera pans to another tank with a bunch of army officers with miniguns. An audience later comes forward and celebrates.

Commercials[]

Back in the newsroom, SMG4 is relaxed, exclaiming how good of an end to the situation was. He looks behind him, and gets worried that SMG3 is missing. SMG4 realised what SMG3 was to do, so he frantically told the editor to cut to commercials, as SMG3 runs up and jumps over the news table bombarding the screen with the logo of his shop, Coffee N' Bombs, before a test screen comes on.

Shot on iPhone[]

A video shows Katie on a bicycle. Somebody offers her candy while recording. The girl gets scared and yells, then gets up and throws her bicycle. She screams and runs away. He later shows himself to be Depresso, now running after the girl. He later uses his hand and catches the girl on tape. At the worst moment, it cuts to a white screen saying "Shot on iPhone", then the Apple logo.

Hilarious jokes you can tell yourself Volume 2[]

Inside a restaurant, we see a table where Toadette and Toad have a date with Toad tied up to the chair with rope. The next table shows Swagmaster having a date with Sonic the Hedgehog. The next table shows Melony sadly having a date with an axolotl. This happens while an announcer, telling a joke that someone will find their lover someday, before a book shows up with Bob on it titled "Hilarious jokes you can tell yourself". It is the second volume of a supposed series of books. Bob says the price is only $900.

SMG3's special report[]

SMG3 introduces the audience to his special report. He says the story will delve into a serious topic. He asks if SMG4 is actually funny. A meme of Luke in SMG4's outfit is shown on the screen saying "not fun knee". The camera reveals SMG4 is tied onto the studio ceiling. SMG3 switches the camera, than asks if the audiences kids are safe, or in danger. SMG3 then interviews people about SMG4's content. A video on his phone shows the Teletubbies' concert chaos on stage. A Plankton figure asks "Where's the funny?". Another video shows Robotnik saying to someone that if they don't take better care of their pingas, that they wouldn't get somebody, with the last word cut off. Koopa Troopa says that he is dying and explodes. Saiko watches another video from him and gets sad and lays low over the various cringy terms and tells him to shut up. SMG3 then says back at the studio that he is horrible and has a studio interview with Frankie, the most affected person of his videos. He explains that Frankie watches SMG4 everyday for the past 10 years. He goes crazy while singing a song with the word Skibidi being dominant. SMG3 tells his father that he is going to have to kill his son. SMG4 then crashes over Frankie. He gets angry then fights with SMG3 as a fight cloud is shown over the attack.

Meggy's sports news[]

The camera switches to the sports newsroom. Meggy is seen surrounded by a bunch of empty porcelain bowls on the news table. She drinks from one the bowls while she is on her phone and lifting a dumbbell. She later notices the viewer and squeals, crashing the bowls on the left side. She later realizes it's her sports segment before kicking the bowls on the other side. She welcomes everybody to sports news, before saying that she's going to interview the champion of basketball, all while excited. A red curtain has a spotlight running over it while Meggy is excited about meeting him. Supposed person is revealed as the curtains open, but later revealed to be Mario. Meggy is surprised by Mario's appearance. Mario swallows a basketball then switches his head which is fat. His head comes off and then flies across the world, also going down several basketball hoops. Meggy is totally surprised as Mario zooms past, a helicopter makes way.

Shroomy's traffic news[]

Shroomy is reporting the traffic news, where a road jam is happening from a bus fallen over, and Whimpu, who is still going crazy. Meanwhile, Mario’s head is seen ramming into the helicopter, in which Shroomy panics. The screen cuts back to SMG4 (with a band-aid on his head due to him fighting with SMG3), who quickly thanked him for the traffic review. Shroomy does a shortly after the helicopter crashes, also seemingly killing millions of others.

Peace with the Teletubbies and the Veggietalians[]

SMG4 doesn’t take Shroomy seriously, and claims it as a joke. SMG3 (who has four band-aids) is still mad about SMG4 and the latter tells him to stop being petty and help him out. He reluctantly agrees, and plainly tells how the Teletubbies and the Veggietalians have have peace after they ate the last cookie in the cookie jar and displays a ‘speech’.

‘Butt Soup’[]

SMG3 interrupts that he gets the more boring headlines while SMG4 has better and more catastrophic news, complaining he wants one of his. He gives him one of his papers, which SMG3 reveals Toadsworth is named the sexiest man of the year, where it shows a picture of Toadsworth’s face.

Misinformation[]

SMG3 kicks the picture out, implying he’s had enough and he’s going to do the news his way. He grabs the camera and tells the Veggietalians (via screen) that the Teletubbies are lying, and that they're going to eat all the cookies. The truce between the Teletubbies and Veggietalians broke, as they began fighting again.

SMG4 says he doesn’t have a source, in which 3 said he made it ‘the fuck up’. He says this is fake news, but SMG3 didn’t have a care in the world, as he starts dancing. SMG4 desperately moves on to Finance, where Rob is explaining FaceBook and YouTube’s stocks (which are going really well). SMG3 then ‘reports’ Elon Musk bought the entire internet. Shocked, Rob burns himself alive and Elon Musk appears on screen.

SMG4 tries to get him to stop, but he continues that it is now illegal to watch YouTubers other than himself. SMG4 and SMG3 start fighting again (“SMG3 is an idiot who you shouldn’t listen to”) and (“Today is Opposite Day”), which SMG4 ‘agrees’ to. SMG3 begins to tease SMG4 that he’s powerless against misinformation. SMG4 has clearly had enough, and claims SMG3’s Café is selling items for free forever. Eggdog gets overwhelmed by the amount of people storming to the shop, in which SMG3 runs off to save his store.

One Last Story[]

With SMG3 finally gone, SMG4 finally has peace. He finds out there is still one final story: News station seen hurtling towards black hole. A bystander is watching SMG3 drag the station out of Earth, saying the show’s over. While Meggy, SMG4 and Boopkins watch him, he realises it’s them getting sucked into the black hole, thus all of them dying albeit being cut by the outro.

  • Excluding both REMASTERED64: WHO LET THE CHOMP OUT? And Mario Reacts To SMG4's Browser History, Mario has returned since SMG4: Mario Opens a Can Of Beans along with his brother Luigi and Meggy Spletzer.
  • This video is somewhat similar to the live action SMG4 show around 7 years ago.
    • There would be a news segment where Luke talks about things related in the Mushroom Kingdom or the world of SMG4.
  • This is also the first episode where Bob Bobowski has subtitles outside WOTFI Rap Battles.
    • This is also the second time Shroomy had subtitles since SMG4: Mario Gets His PINGAS Stuck In Car Door. Since Fishy Boopkins has had subtitles for two episodes, it can now be assumed that Bob and Shroomy now also have permanent subtitles.
    • This is also one of the episodes that Mario appears as a minor character.
  • SMG4 breaks the fourth wall by saying the new villains invaded the city and possibly the beginning of a new arc.
  • If you look closely after SMG3 jumps to the screen with his sign advertising III's Coffee N' Bombs, he switches to Source Filmmaker footage of himself (that is possibly green screened due to SMG4 still being in the GMOD footage), as seen through the smooth-ish animation with shading and lighting on his model.
  • Meggy Spletzer wears the “college” outfit once again.
