The Splat Squad was a group of Inklings (later members of SMG4's Gang) as of SMG4: If Mario Was In... Splatoon. They were rivals to the Octoposse, but this rivalry has later been turned on to the The Ink Brigade.
It was revealed in SMG4: Meggy's Bootcamp that Kenji and Sam have left the team, with Luigi and Tari replacing them (Heavy Squid was replaced by Mario after he accidentally killed him), making it a group of humans instead upon Meggy's change of appearance from an Inkling to a human after the events of the episode, SMG4: Final Hours, in SMG4: The Splatfest Incident, Bob was briefly Meggy's Stand-in after she was kidnapped by Francis.
The Splat Squad appears in SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny where Meggy and her team play against the Team Killer Ink and other teams during the final Splatfest in Desti's memory. After the final round (Turf War), the Splat Squad won the final Splatfest.

For the first (and last) time in Splatfest history, this the first squad to be only made up of humans! Led by Meggy Spletzer, this team is unpredictable and unorthodox (and overweight in Mario's case).
