The Season 4 DVD box set was first released in the UK on November 3, 2008. It was also the first SpongeBob DVD in that country to carry a PG classification from the BBFC due to the scary scenes in "Ghost Host" and the comic violence in "Karate Island."
The front cover of this DVD bears a resemblance with the Season 4 Volume 2 DVD.
The cover is a reference to the episode "The Gift of Gum."
Despite Template:Data:Links not appearing in that episode, he is seen on the front cover of this DVD.
At some point in 2015, this DVD set and The Complete Third Season were released together in a bundle called the 2-Season TV Pack.
On February 5, 2019, this DVD set and The Complete Third Season were released together again in a bundle called The Third & Fourth Seasons.
On the DVD description on the backside, the following episodes are referenced:
"Shell of a Man" - "SpongeBob attends a party with Mr. Krabs' Navy buddies - as Mr. Krabs!"
"Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy VI: The Motion Picture" - "SpongeBob and Patrick make a movie"
"Karate Island" - "SpongeBob goes on a quest to become King of Karate"
"That's No Lady" - "Patrick becomes Patricia"

On the front cover, the handle on SpongeBob's spatula is red instead of black.
On the front cover, Template:Data:Links's eyelids are pink instead of purple. This also happens on The Complete Third Season and The Complete Fifth Season DVDs.
The disc 4 episode description of "Best Frenemies" reads, "Mr. Krabs reveals he and Template:Data:Links were once the best of friends." However, this description actually refers to the season 5 episode "Friend or Foe."
This description error also happens on disc 10 of the 2009 release of The First 100 Episodes DVD.
Even though "The Thing" is episode 76a and "Hocus Pocus" is episode 76b, disc 4 has those episode production numbers in the opposite order (76b, then 76a). This error also occurs for "Born to Be Wild," "Best Frenemies," "The Pink Purloiner," and "Squid Wood."
In the episode "Squidtastic Voyage," there is a closed-captioning error when SpongeBob and Patrick are dancing at the beginning, SpongeBob says, "Tropical breeze." However, the captions say, "Tropical waves" instead of "Tropical breeze."
On the last page of the episode selection for disc 4, the picture used for "Best Day Ever" is actually a shot from "Mid-Life Crustacean" when Template:Data:Links and Patrick are saying, "Not lame!"
