The First Date is the second episode of Queer as Sponge. It aired October 14, 2014. In this episode, SpongeBob has his first date with Patrick, and offers Patrick a choice. It is followed by Moving In.

SpongeBob arrives at Le Fancy. He goes to Patrick's table, where they chat. They order their food, and SpongeBob remarks that this is really romantic, to which Patrick agrees.
After finishing their meal, SpongeBob and Patrick have an awkward first kiss, but both of them enjoy it. After they part ways, SpongeBob leaps for joy.
Meanwhile, Squidward is taking his therapist's advice and treats the new gay customers as average customers. It seems to work, but public displays of gay affection make him start to vomit. After SpongeBob yells out his affection to the Krusty Krab, Squidward runs to the toilet.
When Patrick meets up with SpongeBob, SpongeBob chats with him. He offers Patrick with an ultimatum: stay friends or start dating. SpongeBob gives Patrick a day to consider it.
Meanwhile, Squidward is taking more therapy lessons.
After another day at work, SpongeBob is walking home. When he approches Conch St, he says that Patrick's rock is for sale. He walks to his house, where Patrick is waiting for him. SpongeBob questions why Patrick sold his house, to which Patrick says he lives with his boyfriend.
