It's time to get off my ass... and finally keep that promise I made. Time to get that new castle built. |
” | —SMG4, SMG4: Our New Home |
The SMG4 Castle is the main location, the current capital residence of SMG4 and clubhouse for the gang in the SMG4 series. It was built to replace Peach's Castle after it was devoured by the Demonic Goop and sent into the depths during the events of the SMG4 Movie: IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT.
It is located on the site of a former studio known as "The Showgrounds" that was formerly owned by Mr. Puzzles, the same entity responsible for the destruction of Peach's Castle, wanting for the crew members to move here, for him to easily control them to make them performers for his media company Puzzlevision. Mr. Puzzles created the land specifically for the SMG4 cast and secretly listed the property for SMG4 to have full ownership of the land. The construction of the castle began at the beginning of SMG4: We Interrupt This Broadcast, after SMG4 had enough of Marty's stolen money to build the new castle, with the outer structure, first floor and basement being completed by the time of SMG4: THE NEW CASTLE!!
The upper floors are still currently under construction and SMG3 began making plans to build his new home, named III's Coffee N' Bombs, in The Showgrounds after recovering his notebook from Mario and Marty at the end of SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2023, due to his former "home" in the Internet Graveyard being a trash heap.
History[]
SMG4 Movie: IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT[]
As a result of SMG4's obsession with creating the "perfect video", he unintentionally summoned an eldritch-like goop monster that took over Peach's Castle. So, the castle was destroyed and beyond repair by his friends after failing multiple attempts to destroy the goop in order to save SMG4. Wanting to make things right after destroying such a significant landmark, he decided to build a new castle with the help of his friends, taking the only door from Peach's Castle that survived the incident with him.
SMG4: Our New Home[]
SMG4 has been living in Luigi's RV following the destruction of Peach's Castle. When it is compromised (a reoccurring issue for him), he decides to make good on his promise and set up the new castle. Using his emergency money, he buys the Showgrounds and invites his friends to it. While it turns out his emergency money could only afford the land and not any building materials, planning of the new layout commences, with SMG4 mapping out the dimensions with chalk and his gang deciding on which rooms would go were. Luigi's RV also returned, and SMG4 stills sleeps in it before the castle is built.
SMG4: The Very Safe & Legal SMG4 Show[]
The first hangout at the Showgrounds does not go well, as everyone is bored sitting in the dirt. To raise money for the new castle, SMG4 decides to put on a circus and forces his friends to perform in it. Though the circus is initially a disaster, Melony's ventriloquist act turns the audience into coins through sheer cringe, effectively saving the show. However, the money was only enough to buy a small set of furniture.
SMG4: Every Luigi Is Personalized[]
By this point, everyone has come to accept The Showgrounds as their new hangout place, as the furniture is all catered to their own special interests. It is also revealed that there is a porta-potty on the land, of which was cursed by a Super Mario 64.exe cartridge thrown in by Depresso.
SMG4: Mario Opens a Pizza Shop & SMG4: Mario Harms The Environment[]
Mario has had trouble finding a place to build his own pizzeria, as his last location was on Peppino Spaghetti's turf. He decides to build his pizza place on the Showgrounds, and with the help of SMG3, deforests the area for land and building materials. This angers both Meggy and Tari, so they try to stop them. They then meet The Lorax and he uses his wise trees to fight back. One of the trees ends up liking Mario's pizza and sacrifices itself and the other trees to make the restaurant, satisfying everyone (except a confused SMG3).
SMG4: Mario Is Fine.[]
Mario is too lazy to run the pizza shop he built, so he creates his own OCs Marty and Lui to do it for him.
SMG4: We Interrupt This Broadcast[]
Thanks to Marty, Mario’s Pizzeria has received enough money to finally begin the castle’s actual construction and progress on its foundations is now underway. Later, Mario gave him the responsibility to look after the Showgrounds while the cast went on vacation in the Wild West. Little do they know, that this trip would take a very different direction.
SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI[]
A few days after the crew escaped Wren's simulations, Meggy begins hosting training sessions on the Showgrounds as a part of her coaching career. When class ends, Mario, Meggy and Tari play a round of Splatoon while everyone watches, happy to have escaped the simulations and to see how much they've all grown. Some things never change, however, as Mario is launched into the construction site, causing SMG4 to scream in disappointment and devastation.
SMG4: You Made Mario Do This[]
Despite the setback, progress on the new castle is recovered and nearing completion. Unfortunately, Marty is blocking the construction, which prevents the castle from being built. Mario, SMG4, his gang, and many other characters tried anything to get Marty to move, but to no avail. Eventually, Swag and Chris have arrived to destroy Marty, with the help of Mario. SMG4 saw that the three of them are going to launch a nuke at Marty. SMG4 tried to warn them about their friends, but Mario is too focused on getting rid of his OC. SMG4 races to tell everyone to get out of here, but he bumps into Lui. SMG4 tried to get him out of the way, but when he touched Lui, he gains a vision about what Marty's been going through. Understanding Marty's suffering, SMG4 apologizes to him, and he makes it up to him by giving him the co-ownership of the castle, thus Marty falls over, implying that he agrees. SMG4 also saves The Showgrounds from being destroyed by using Marty to deflect the nuke back at Mario, Swag and Chris and the construction of the castle resumes. The Engineer tells everyone that the castle will be ready in two weeks, making SMG4 yell "YEAH BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII" in excitement.
SMG4: Let’s Go Visit Peach![]
The castle is nearly finished, and things are going well. However, construction has been put into a halt once again. This time, the Engineer needed a Power Star in order to speed up the progress. So Meggy, Mario, SMG3, and SMG4 go on a journey to find the Power Star, which is located in Peach's Castle, still inside the Demonic Goop. After some difficulties, they find the Power Star, and they give it to the Engineer, who eats it in his sandwich. With the star's power, he quickly resumed construction of the castle, and the whole gang are more than happy about getting a brand new castle.
SMG4: THE NEW CASTLE!![]
Construction of the castle is finally completed, and as their collective home, SMG4 wants everyone to help decorate the rooms. Though there are a few hiccups (such as Mario and Meggy setting the kitchen on fire and Bob's ideas clashing with Melony and Boopkins'), SMG4 is still able to pull off a tour of the place (sans a boarded-up door). Everyone quickly settles in, happy to have a castle once more and the lives of the gang start to go back to normal.
SMG4: Mario VS Skibidi Toilet[]
After Mario finds and befriends a Skibidi Toilet, Simon, a hoard of them arrive. Though Mario and Luigi are able to defeat them with Simon's help, the empty toilets remain scattered around. Mario opts to add them all to the castle bathroom.
SMG4: War Of The Fat Italians 2023[]
Mario has taken SMG3's sussy notebook, and SMG4 and SMG3 plan a heist to get it back (with the help of SMG4's fans, who voted for different actions on each mission). Once they get the notebook back, SMG3 decides to reward the audience for their choices by revealing he's moving to the Showgrounds, and building a coffee shop of his own next to the castle.
SMG4: SMG3's BOMB CAFE[]
SMG3's Café has been finish constructing and is open at the Showgrounds.
MEME HUNTERS[]
Several months after the whole Puzzlevision fiasco, SMG4 notices that the Showgrounds has been too quiet lately, so he decided to build a new attraction in order to raise tourism and he even gets Meggy to help him on a quest to catch memes on Dong Island, much to her annoyance.
SMG4 and the Meme Factory[]
A week later after his "epic quest", SMG4 finally finishes his attraction, in which he dubs, the Meme Factory, and he shows it to Mario, Luigi, Bob and SMG3, much to their dismay. After some shenanigans in the factory, Mario (the last guest by default), gets awarded to be the official mascot, but he gets to make memes forever, as if it was the only way for SMG4 to raise tourism. The episode ends with Mario successfully escaping the Meme Factory, in which Mr. Puzzles (who was probably hiding in a bush the entire episode) begins his next plan, uncovering the secrets of The Comedy Zone, but later failed once again thanks to Mario.
Appearance[]
The Showgrounds was an abandoned carnival setting, with many of the tents and bunting still set up around. It is surrounded by hills and forests. The land where the new castle was built is made up of dirt, with grass surrounding it. Since SMG4: The Very Safe & Legal SMG4 Show, there was only a chalk outline marking where the new castle will be, with furniture spread out across the dirt. At the beginning of SMG4: We Interrupt This Broadcast, Mario gives SMG4 most of his money from his pizza shop which allowed SMG4 to start construction on the castle itself.
In SMG4: THE NEW CASTLE!!, the castle itself was revealed. It has a circus like design with a giant SMG4 cap sporting the new logo on top. The front door has a circus tent design around the edges and the sign above the door very subtly says SMG4, although it's hard to read. There are a pair of eyes on the walls next to the main door. It also has a small flag on top of the SMG4 hat. It has four spires at each corner of the castle. The castle follows a blue and white color scheme, matching SMG4's colors.
Layout[]
A welcome arch marks the location. SMG4's RV is parked next to the castle. Off to the side is a cursed porta-potty that houses MX and Luigi.exe. Mario's Pizzeria is also on the Showgrounds, located in a section of the forest. As of SMG4: War of the Fat Italians 2023, SMG3 has a coffee shop built next to the castle.
The castle has two levels (three counting the basement), though as of SMG4: THE NEW CASTLE!!, only the ground floor has been completed. It has a large lobby as a central hub that branches off to other rooms located inside the spires. These rooms include a storage room, gaming room, guest room, kitchen, bathroom, SMG4's bedroom, and a room that has been boarded up. The storage room has a hatch door to the basement. At the sides of SMG4's room, there are two spiral staircases up to a balcony/mezzanine with a door that will eventually lead to the upper floors.
The layout of the rooms on the ground floor, as you walk in through the main entrance, are:
- SMG4's Room straight ahead,
- The Kitchen to the far left
- The Guest Room to the right of the Kitchen,
- The Storage Room to the far right,
- The Game Room to the left of the Storage Room,
- The Bathroom to the right of the Storage Room,
- and the Boarded-Up Room to the left of the Kitchen.

Trivia[]
- At the end of SMG4 Movie: IT'S GOTTA BE PERFECT, SMG4 is able to salvage one of the doors to Peach's Castle. Despite this, the door does not yet appear to be a part of the new castle, as it may be placed upstairs.
- Nevertheless, one remnant of the old castle remains: the carpet that laid in the lobby, now placed in the Gaming Room. He possibly salvaged it when they went down to the pit to get the power star.
- Some assets from The Showgrounds are purchased from a pack in Unreal Engine's store called "Dreamscape: Stylized Environment Meadows - Stylized Nature Open World Fantasy".
- The Showgrounds might have some sinister elements to it. Aside from the fact that it was abandoned long ago, Boopkins also notes that it mysteriously showed up on the estate agents' catalogue when SMG4 came looking for a plot of land as well as Mr. Puzzle's theme playing as Boopkins talks about it. A TV symbol also appears on the listing, referencing Mr. Puzzles being the presumed former owner.
- The boarded-up room in SMG4's new castle may also hint at something sinister being locked inside it. (No, it is not Mr. Puzzles, but it could possibly be something he is affiliated with.)
- The Showgrounds is the first main location in the SMG4 series to have an original design.
- Before being revealed in SMG4: Our New Home, The Showgrounds could already be seen in the new banner after the release of SMG4: A Happy Little Road Trip.
- There are various references to SMG4 and GLITCH series hidden throughout the New Castle, involving but not limited to:
- Stomp:
- A few of the Box Club's masks from the Revelations Arc.
- A basket of corn (presumably from Rob).

- Stomp:
- According to Luke himself, the castle's design being based on a circus is due to everyone in the series referring to SMG4 as a "clown" and him choosing to embrace the clown-esthetic.
- It also seems to feature inspiration from Mario Party buildings as well.
GMOD model[]
Although the official model/map remains unreleased, a faithful fan recreation of The SMG4 Castle made by GMOD user AnEyeArtist exists on the Steam workshop.
