OH SH*T!

—Yoshi after The Police catches him for not paying his taxes, SMG4: Mario Preschool

Therapoda Yoshisaur Munchakoopas, better known as Yoshi for short, is a recurring character in the SMG4 series.

He is a green Yoshi who is a close friend to Mario and Luigi and originally served as their pet. Both his role and personality wildly varies between appearances, but he is mostly kind and sometimes cowardly fruit lover. He is now a fugitive who is associated with the Grand Council of Tax Fraud.

He is also a supporting character in The Waluigi Arc, a minor character in the The Rapper Bob Arc, a background character in The YouTube Arc, The SMG4 Cosmology Saga, Genesis Arc, and a supporting character in the Mario Does Things series.

In Season 12, his appearances dramatically increased and even surpassed Melony, Bowser and Karen's appearances.

History[]

Yoshi is a drug addict and an ally of Mario, Luigi, and Peach. The reason that he lives on the roof of the castle is that he ate all the food that Peach had. Yoshi, wanting to return to the castle in the video Yoshrooms, tried to break into the castle, and past the events of videos, Yoshrooms Yoshi was part of the cast with Mario, SMG4, Meggy, Luigi, Bowser, and among others. His exclusion is seen in the video of Stupid Mario World where Yoshi asks Mario why he does not visit him and Mario tells him that it is because he does not see him when he walks out of the castle and becoming only cameos in recent videos.

He has been running from the cops since SMG4: Mario Preschool, as he is wanted for committing tax fraud. He was caught by the police in SMG4: Super Mario Taxi, as he was shot by a missile from a police helicopter, and is incarcerated at the Desert Prison with the other tax fraud Yoshis. In Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes 3, he eventually escaped and fled to Europe, but Mario later called the French police, telling them Yoshi's location, and he was later caught in the streets of Paris. Sometime later, he was extradited and was released again as of SMG4: The Mario Documentary.

Criminal Record[]

  • Tax Fraud: Yoshi has committed tax fraud in many videos.
  • Resisting Arrest: After committing tax fraud, Yoshi attempted to evade the police.
  • Murder: Yoshi had eaten Banana Cat and dies in a guillotine.

Abilities[]

Power level: D[]

Yoshi, like much of the other characters, has a few special abilities:

  • Near-Invulnerability: For an unexplained reason; Yoshi has somehow endured and survived any and all misfortune and abuse directed at him, including and not limited to crashing into the castle wall while at the same time, his back was surviving a pressure of over 590 pounds (Wario was riding on him), falling onto molten lava and living, even after being blown up, survived humping a watermelon, falling all the way off a bridge and exploding once again at the bottom, survives having his legs crippled near-daily, duels against foes in excess of street level, and, most notably, in Super Mario 64 Bloopers: Yoshrooms., Yoshi survives being drugged for over 2 weeks, blown up, savagely beaten by a fellow Yoshi, crushed in the stomach by Mario's kart, which can reach averages of 55 MPH in Mario Kart, dragged across the street.
  • Prehensile Tongue: Much like his Nintendo counterpart, he can stretch out his tongue to eat enemies and food. It can also be used like a grappling hook.
  • Transformation: Like Peach and Waluigi, in SMG4: If Mario Was In... Sonic Movie 2 and in Mario Reacts To Nintendo Memes 5, he can transform into versions of giant dinosaurs (like Barney and a Giganotosaurus) to chase someone who is distracted (although this was Forced by Eggman Using The Redesign Machine).

Trivia[]

  • He is currently the longest-serving recurring character in the series.
  • A running gag in the series is him committing tax fraud, which started in SMG4: Mario Preschool. The joke originated from Tumblr, but gained popularity due to SilvaGunner.
  • In the SMG4 series, the reason why he has to live on the roof of Peach's Castle is that he once ate all of Peach's food and defecated on her bed. In the main series, Yoshi's appearance on the roof is for the Easter egg in Super Mario 64, where, after all 120 Power Stars are collected and the cannon to the roof is unlocked, he will reveal a thank you message from the team and award Mario with 100 lives and a special triple jump.
  • In the Mario franchise, Yoshi was a dinosaur living in Dinosaur Land, but in SMG4, he was a deformed clone of one of the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park that Luigi bought for 200,000,000 coins.
  • According to a 1993 Nintendo character guide, Yoshi's "real name" is T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas. It's unknown if it is the same in the SMG4 series.
  • In SMG4: New Year, New Mario, he was revealed to have a weed addiction.
  • As seen in R64: Stupid Mario Party, Yoshi has suicidal thoughts, evident as he keeps on saying that "he wants to die". This may be because of the events of SM64 Bloopers: The Great Yoshi Race, where he was pushed to his limits.
  • Tari mains Yoshi in Super Smash Each Other in the Ass Bros.
  • He had a twin sister called "Yashi" in Super Mario 64 Bloopers: Wallets and Dinosaurs, but she was killed by Mario, who mistook her for Yoshi.
  • Yoshi was born in the 'The Land that Never Was' as revealed in the blooper of the same name.
  • Yoshi was one of the few characters who did not appear in SMG4 Movie: 10 Year Anniversary Special.
  • In Season 11, he now appears as a background character, making only several cameos due to being incarcerated in prison with the other Yoshis. Later, in SMG4: Mario Does Literally Anything For Views, for Mario Does Things, SMG4: Mario Goes To College, and SMG4 Christmas Special 2021, his appearances increased.
  • In Season 12, after being in prison due to him committing tax fraud, his appearances increase once again, starting from SMG4: The Mario Documentary.
  • Season 13 is where he appears sometimes as a toy in SMG4's castle.
  • Following the Puzzlevision saga, it's unknown where he lives now since Peach's castle got destroyed.
